Math

The intermediate grades continue to provide instruction in number sense for our students, but students will be introduced to higher level concepts.  In addition to whole numbers, our students will now work with fractions and decimals.  Negative numbers will be introduced to our students, as well as beginning geometry and algebra concepts.  Teachers stress conceptual understanding, computational fluency, and problem solving skills for our students.  Our teachers use a basic text, along with explicit teaching, manipulatives, computer programs, and math talks.
