Music

The goal of the music department at St. Joseph Catholic School is to provide students with the tools to understand and actively experience music throughout their lives. Through study and performance, music opens an aesthetic and awareness of other cultures. Students in the lower grades study the different genres of music using the five elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and timbre.  Students in middle school apply this knowledge through music performances at band concerts, choral festivals, and the weekly Mass.
