Home
and School Association
Similar to a PTA, the Home and
School Association is an extremely active and essential
part of the school community. More than twenty committees
participate in every phase of life at St. Joseph Catholic
School. Family involvement is an essential part of the
school community, creating a sense of ownership in an
atmosphere of faith, friendship, and fun.
Home and School sponsors great social events for parents
such as Casino Night, and fundraisers such as the Family
Fun Run, and the Magazine Drive. Committees range from
Art Moms, Cultural Performances, Library Aides, Do-Dads,
Hospitality, Middle School Social Events, Room Moms/Dads…the
list goes on and on. In addition, there is a Men’s
Social Club for the dads, uncles and granddads of the
school. This group meets once a month at a local restaurant
to socialize and network, and they also host the golf
tournament fundraiser. If you want to meet people and
get involved, Home and School has a place for you.
ADVISORY COUNCIL
Appointed members, including parents, our principal,
and Pastor, meet quarterly to plan, evaluate and implement
the future direction of St. Joseph Catholic School.
All parents are encouraged to participate by offering
ideas and questions.
PARENT ACTION COMMITTEE
This committee is designed to provide an organized
forum for parents to meet with the principal and staff
on a regular basis to collectively address questions
about the school, to get accurate information, and
to promote good ideas for school activities beyond
the scope of the Home and School Association. This
group sponsors “Coffee with the Principal,” featuring
faculty speakers on the curriculum, the guidance program,
the Accelerated Reader Program, and other topics of
interest to parents. The staff spends quality time
with parents, listening and responding to questions
and ideas.
