St.
Joseph Catholic School is a parish school and is accredited

the Southern Association of Independent Schools. In
addition, the school has been named as a 2003 No Child
Left Behind

Blue
Ribbon
School
of Excellence.
Our school
has a rich history dating back to 1953.

In addition
to our curriculum, various activities and leadership
opportunities are available to our students such as
Safety Patrol, Student Council, Spelling Bee, Oratorical
Contest, Science Fair and Altar Servers. There are
also several extra curricular activities such as Band
(Grades 6-8), Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts, and a St.
Joseph Parish Basketball Program for girls and boys
in grades 3-8. In addition, we offer our youngest students
in kindergarten through second grade an opportunity
to build their basketball skills through our 'Lil Cougars
program. Volleyball is available to girls (grades 5-8)
of St. Joseph Catholic School and parish. (Please see
the Athletics section for more details). Grades
K-5
have
a monthly
Roller
Skating
Party.
Some of the
special days throughout the school year are: Blessing
of the Pets, St. Nicholas' Day, Catholic Schools Week,
our Student Art Exhibit and Grandparent's
Day. Students also attend several educational field
trips for each grade throughout the year, as well as
attend various Cultural Arts Performances held at the
school.
Students attend a school Mass
each Wednesday morning at 8:15 AM. Throughout the school
year, each of the classes take turns planning and participating
in the liturgy.
