Financial
Aid
St. Joseph Catholic School is
committed to providing a quality education at an affordable
price. While we are proud to offer one of the lowest
tuition rates in the Archdiocese of Atlanta, we are aware
that the decision to send your child to Catholic school
may mean financial sacrifices for many and for some,
it is simply not affordable without some assistance.
All financial aid awards are need-based awards. St. Joseph
Catholic School offers tuition assistance to qualifying
families through two funds. The first fund is a school
financial aid fund, which is funded by the Archdiocese
of Atlanta and St. Joseph Catholic School. The second
fund, the GRACE Scholars, is an Archdiocesan financial
aid fund. GRACE Scholars is state funded, through the
redirection of state tax dollars and is administered
by the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
The process to apply for assistance from either fund
begins by completing an application with FACTS Grant
and Aid. FACTS Grant and Aid applications are available
online, beginning on January 5th for the following school
term. The deadline for completing applications is February
19th.
Please visit the FACTS
Grant & Aid Website to
complete an online application.
In order to make application to either fund, please follow
these instructions:
St. Joseph Catholic School Tuition Assistance
1. Any current family or any new family may apply for
this need-based award
2. Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid online application.
Please be sure to provide FACTS with the requested supporting
tax documentation. There is a nominal cost to FACTS Grant
and Aid in order to begin the process.
3. FACTS will return a Needs Assessment Report to the
school which will be used as a guideline in making financial
aid awards.
4. The award amounts are calculated by a number of criteria,
including the determined financial need, the number of
applicants requesting financial aid and the amount of
funds available for allocation. All financial aid award
decisions are made locally, here at the school
5. Families will be notified of the financial aid decisions
by letter in April
6. St. Joseph Catholic School prides itself in making
every effort to help our families who are in need of
financial assistance. Our goal is to use our funds to
help as many families as possible. With this in mind,
we will no longer offer the tuition discount, for the
one pay or two pay options, to those families who receive
financial assistance.
7. The amount of the award will be deducted from tuition
only, after all applicable enrollment fees are paid.
The award is valid for only one school year. The family
must repeat the process each year in which a financial
need exists.
GRACE Scholars
1. Only families with an incoming kindergarten student
or a transfer student from a public school may initially
apply for GRACE
2. Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application. Please
be sure to provide FACTS with the requested supporting
tax documentation. There is a nominal cost to FACTS
Grant and Aid in order to begin the process
3. FACTS will return a Needs Assessment Report to the
school which will be used as a guideline in making
financial aid awards
4. An additional application must be completed for
GRACE. You may download an application by going to
the
Archdiocese of Atlanta
website and
clicking on the GRACE Scholars link at the bottom of
the page. Please
return completed application to
St. Joseph School by February 19th
5. Awards for the GRACE Scholars will be determined
and will be valid for the length of time the student
is enrolled
at St. Joseph Catholic School, as long as the family’s
financial need can be verified each year by the FACTS
Grant and Aid assessment and the funds are available
6. Families will be notified of the financial aid decisions
by letter. Typically, letters are received during the
month of April
Families who are eligible may apply for both financial
aid funds. Please remember that the awards are need-based
and the amount of the financial aid award(s) will not
exceed the determined financial need recommended by FACTS
Grand and Aid. Should a family receive aid from both
funds, the school tuition assistance award may be adjusted
downward, so as not to exceed the determined financial
need of the family.
Please contact the Business Office at 770.428.3328, ext.
