Annual
Fund
2011-2012 Annual
Giving Form
The Annual Fund
is an essential revenue source for our school. The cost
of educating our students cannot be fully covered by
tuition, so we rely upon the geneosity of our entire
school family - alumni, parents, grandparents, friends,
faculty and staff - to support the Annual Fund campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Why do we have fund-raising programs and an Annual
Fund campaign?
A. The Annual Fund is an essential revenue source for
our school. The cost of educating our students cannot be fully covered
by tuition.
Tuition revenue only covers about 85% of the actual cost to educate students—that’s
about a $1,000 per student shortfall. Because of that shortfall, we rely
on the generosity of our entire school family to support the Annual Fund
campaign. Fund-raising helps us avoid exorbitant tuition increases so that
more families can give their children a Catholic school education. Plus,
unlike tuition, donations to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible!
Q. Why is it necessary for 100% of parents, faculty
and staff to participate in the Annual Fund?
A. Contributions to the Annual Fund are tangible demonstrations
of the support the school enjoys from its greater school family: parents,
grandparents, faculty, administration, and alumni. Foundations, grant providers,
and other private enterprises ask first about the percentage of participation
in the Annual Fund. One hundred percent indicates a program worth supporting
with their gifts. When everyone gives—whether a little or a lot—the
financial load doesn’t fall on only a few, but is shared by the entire
school community.
Q. How can I find out if my employer will match my
donation?
A. Many companies have a Matching Gift Program and may actually
double your gift to St. Joseph Catholic School. To find out more, contact
your Human Resource department or email the SJCS Development Office and we’ll
help you research your company’s program.
